Holistic Acne Cures And Treatments - Get Rid Of Acne Forever!

There are many turning to holistic acne cures and treatments these days, and the reason for this is because over the counter acne treatments just do not work long term. If you have had the same experience as me you have tried many over the counter acne products, seen good results for the first 6 months only for it then to become ineffective, even making the skin worse on some occasions.

If you want a long term solution to getting rid of acne then going down the natural holistic route is the best option. But before you do decide to take this route it is very important to note that it will not be easy, in-fact it is extremely difficult, but the end results if you push through can be amazing.

Once you have decided and committed to taking the holistic acne cure approach there are many things you will need to consider, with many of that included for your below...

Ignoring The Problem

People do not get acne because of external factors. External factors contribute to acne but they do not cause it. What actually causes acne is something internally wrong within the body, and acne is a symptom that something internal needs addressing.

There are two options:
  1. Ignore the problem until it hopefully goes away, or the most likely thing to happen is acne will become worse, or other more serious conditions will arise.
  2.  Listen  to what your body is trying to tell you and look at how you can correct the underlying problems.
What Is The Holistic Approach to Acne?

The holistic approach to acne is to look at curing acne by confronting all the elements. These include:
  • Lifestyle Choices
  • External Factors
  • Environmental Issues
  • Emotional State
  • Nutrition and Diet
All of these contribute to acne in one way or another, and by confronting each one of them every angle is being covered, which is very important when suffering from acne as there could be several underlying issues why you are breaking out. And this is exactly what I am going to be covering in more detail in this post, starting with...

Lifestyle Choices And Acne

There are several key lifestyle choices that can massively impact on your health and well-being. With the 2 main ones being smoking and diet. In the United States smoking is the leading cause of preventable deaths, followed closely by obesity. We all know the major disease these two can cause, but they are also a big factor in acne also. Some of the reason for this is because:
  • They effect the hormones
  • Toxins are stored in body fat
  • Smoking ages the skin
  • Massive burden put on the vital organs
There are also many other reasons why lifestyle choices are extremely important not just for acne but in the future of your over-all health.

External Factors And Acne

Making sure that the skin is kept clean, hydrated and looked after correctly is still an important part in clearing acne and maintaining healthy skin even when using holistic acne solutions. Just because what you put on your skin will not cure acne, it still plays an over-all important role in preventing and keeping acne at bay long term. The most important external factors are:
  • Cleansing the skin twice daily to keep the pores clean, remove excess oil, dirt and other impurities.
  • Avoid touching the affected ares with your hands unless necessary (a lot of dirt and bacteria gets on the hands). You also want to avoid squeezing pimples at all cost as this can spread bacteria, and in some cases cause permanent acne scarring.
  • Use a non comedogenic moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated.
Environmental Issues And Acne

If you live in a City it is guaranteed that the water is contaminated, the air is full of pollutants and several other environmental issues that can effect health, including acne. It can be very difficult to avoid environmental factors that could be contributing to your acne, unless you move to the countryside of course, but that would be a huge decision to make and totally unnecessary, especially since environmental factors play only a very small part, if any, in the cause of acne.

Emotional State And Acne

What state you are in emotionally can play a role in acne. If you are in a negative emotional state this causes the body to become unbalanced, including the hormones, which everyone knows is a major reason we get acne. To help with your emotional state there are a few activities that can really help that include:
  • Yoga
  • Meditation
  • Light Exercise
By taking part in one or all of the above activities you will massively be helping your cause when it comes to getting clear skin, but not only that it will also help in many other aspects of your life even when acne is a long gone problem.

Diet And Acne

There is an on-going debate on whether what we eat causes acne or not, but there is one thing that I am 100% certain about, there are specific foods that can trigger acne breakouts. It can be very difficult to find out what food(s) could be triggering acne breakouts, but one way is to do an elimination diet.

For more information on elimination diets click here.

Foods that a high majority of acne suffers have found trigger there acne include:
  • Milk
  • Garlic
  • Chili Peppers
  • Bread
  • Chocolate
  • Greasy foods
